Leadership Talks

To acknowledge the role of women and women achievers, the Directorate of Alumni Affairs organized an event of “Leadership Talks” as part of the Women's Day celebration on March 02, 2019 at MBA Seminar Hall, KTR Campus. Six alumnae in various walks of life graced the occasion by their presence.

Dr. T. Mythili (Ph.D. at SRM), Director, Student Affairs shared some of her inspirational thoughts and quoted from a few good books that could motivate women to keep moving.  She was in high spirits speaking about her career ladder, starting her career journey after attaining motherhood and balancing family and career.

Thirupurasundari Sevvel (B.Arch, 2011) - Founder, URBAN CONCLAVE shared her life journey and her career path of being an NGO now. While explaining the power of women she cited the construction industry where women contribute a major role in the industry but are underpaid and unrecognized. They endure the physical and mental hardship while also taking care of their kids

Shweta Balambal (Bioinformatics 2013) – Corporate Social Responsibility at TCS expressed that the opportunity of storytelling to underprivileged kids changed her career outlook.  And now she is a good storyteller which inspired a junior for what he is right now.

Ujjwaal Bharadwaj (ECE, 2017) - Founder & CTO at Stithi Innovations Pvt. Ltd delivered about her pathway from SRM to her position now as an award-winning social entrepreneur.

Nayonika Basu (IT, 2017) - Assistant Manager at Royal Enfield recollected her memories of SRM and her contribution while she was a student and volunteering at DSA.

Nishtha Sen (ECE, 2019) - Founder, Light & Life (NGO) was inspired by her grandmother and shared a few instances of her journey.

Last but not the least our Alumni Coordinator Dr. Deeptha Thattai (Civil, 1993) - Associate Professor – Civil gave some light to the occasion by delivering a speech on the theme “Balance for better”.

There was also an informative panel discussion in which the various issues faced by women were highlighted and questions from the audience were fielded by the speakers.
