WHO South-East Asia appreciates GOARN partners


Dr Rajan R Patil, Associate Professor and epidemiologist in the School of Public Health SRMIST, Kattankulathur has been nominated by WHO in its global fight against COVID 19 health care support. He has been posted in Nepal. He is a member of Global Outbreak Alert & Response Network (GOARN). His work has been highly appreciated recently by the WHO South-East Asia as mentioned in their twitter handle. We thank #GOARN partners for their critical support, as always. @GOARN202 @WHO. WHO coordinates international outbreak response using resources from GOARN.

Dr. Rajan is also the recipient of the Yusuf Hamied Fellowship and has been selected as a Visiting Fellow to Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health (New York).

This is to acknowledge significant contributions made by WHO-GOARN in Case Investigation and Contact Tracing (CICT) activities related to Covid-19 in Province 5 of Nepal. The Ministry of Social development in his letter signed by Honorable Minister Sudarshan Baral is thankful for the technical assistance provided by Dr. Rajan R Patil, International GOARN epert-Epidemiology and Surveillance, deployed through WHO Nepal Country Office for Nepal in Province-5.
