SRMIST has an ongoing research collaboration funded by Royal Society with The Open University, UK (https://www.srmist.edu.in/uk-exchange-program-grant-research-faculty) and to further strengthen the relationship, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was entered on the 23rd day of October 2019 between the two institutes. The MoU will facilitate expansion of existing collaboration to new joint research projects, exchange of scholars & scientists to conduct research of mutual interest, student internships and co-operation on distance education etc.
As part of the ongoing collaboration, a PhD scholar from SRMIST spent two months with Prof. Krishnamurthy’s research group at the Open University UK to develop the atmospheric plasma jet printing of solar absorber films at low temperatures. Further, Dr. S. Venkataprasad Bhat of SRMIST visited UK to discuss the results and expand the collaborative connections. Also, Prof. Krishnamurthy & Prof. Nuttall from School of Engineering and Innovation, Open University, UK visited SRMIST and held discussions with SRMIST faculty members regarding possible collaborations. Prof. Krishnamurthy is now an adjunct professor at SRMIST and has been an invited speaker for various events at SRMIST including ICONN conference, DST INSPIRE camp etc. In addition, he has also delivered guest lectures and interaction session with faculty/students at SRMIST.
