The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has announced the Sports Quota Selection Trials for the academic year 2026–27 at the Kattankulathur campus. The trials provide talented sportspersons an opportunity to pursue higher education at SRMIST while representing the university in various sporting events. Eligible candidates may also receive up to 100% scholarship under the Sports Quota, based on their performance in the trials and sports achievements.

The selection trials will be conducted from 12 April 2026 to 17 April 2026, with the reporting time at 8:00 AM for all participants. The trials will cover a wide range of sports disciplines for both men and women, offering aspiring athletes a chance to demonstrate their skills and secure admission under the sports quota category.

The sports included in the trials are Aquatics (Swimming & Diving), Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Kabaddi, Athletics, Boxing, Cricket, Fencing, Hockey, Badminton, Volleyball, Archery, Chess, Judo, Taekwondo, Tennis, Weightlifting, and Table Tennis. Through these trials, SRMIST aims to identify talented athletes who can represent the institution in inter-university competitions and national-level sporting events.

Students interested in applying under the Sports Quota must register online through the official website of SRMIST. Participants are required to bring relevant sports certificates and necessary documents during the trial process for verification.
