SRM donates 25 computers to its UBA adopted school

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur inaugurated its welfare activities for adopted villages under the SRMIST-UBA perennial assistance fund at Government Higher Secondary School, Anjur village.

SRMIST's Vice Chancellor Dr. C. Muthamizhchelvan spoke on the occasion. He explained the reason behind the launch of Unnath Bharat Abhiyan and how the Institute has been instrumental in the development of the rural population.

Chief Educational Officer, Chengalpattu, Ms. K. Rose Nirmala and District Educational Officer, Chengalpattu, Mr. S. Damodharan greeted the gathering.

Students gave a Bharatanatyam performance. SRMIST Vice Chancellor presented prizes to students who participated in the essay, painting and speech competition. The topic of these contests was on reducing the use of plastic.

SRMIST then donated 25 computers and science lab equipment. This was handed over to the District Educational Officer.

Anjur village leader, Mrs. Selvi Devaraj inaugurated a week-long yoga training and medical camp. The headmaster of the school, Mr. Bhaskar, flaged off the plastic elimination rally.

Saplings were planted in the school premises and a few others were distributed to the members of the village panchayat ward who participated in the function.
