About:

Dr. S. Anandhakumar joined as an Assistant Professor in Research Institute and associated with the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University), since April 2012. He has got his Ph.D from Department of Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore., and intensively worked on stimuli-responsive polyelectrolyte capsules for encapsulation and release of macromolecules in response to environmental (e.g. pH, temperature, and ionic strength) and external (e.g. laser light and ultra sound) stimuli. He has expanded his research focus on designing functional polymers by synthesising polymers with the lower critical solution temperature behaviour for specific biomedical applications via cationic ring opening polymerization (CROP) by visiting University of Ghent, Belgium., as Visiting Assistant Professor. He has also worked as Visiting Assistant Professor at University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and involved in developing various methodologies to modify the surfaces of screen printed and glass carbon electrodes for sensing of biomolecules and heavy metal ions.
