Dr. V. Kumaran

Research Assistant Professor

Dr. V. Kumaran have completed Ph.D in Chemical Engineering (Electrochemistry) from College of Engineering, Kyung Hee University, South Korea under the guidance of Prof. Chang Woo Lee. And then he move to McGill University and Institut de recherche en électricité d'Hydro-Québec (IREQ), QC, Canada, worked as Post-doctoral Researcher under the guidance of Prof. George P. Demopoulos. Later on he received Marie-Curie Fellowship under the European Commission from Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto in Portugal under the guidance of Prof. Carlos Fonseca and Prof. Silvia Comani (Coordinator-EU Project ANDREA, University "G. d'Annunzio" of Chieti-Pescara - Italy). Currently he is working a Research Assistant Professor in SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University), TN, India.
 
He have research experience and knowledge in the field of Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion Technology which is advanced electrode and electrolyte materials for Li/Na-ion rechargeable systems, including electrode material synthesis, physical and electrochemical characterizations, cell fabrication, and safety as well aging studies of fabricated cells and insertion/extraction of metal-ion reaction modeling etc.
 
Also, he has experience on design and development of novel nanocoated dry-electrodes for biomedical brain sensors, specifically multichannel electroencephalography (EEG). Over the years, he received several distinctions and producing two patents and published morethan 35 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, attending many international conferences.
