Dr. Prakash Muthuramalingam

M.Sc., Ph.D

Research Assistant Professor

Welcome to Computational Chemistry Research Laboratory (CCRL)!

Dr. Prakash Muthuramalingam completed his B.Sc., and M.Sc., in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He completed doctoral study at the CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai under the supervision of Prof. V. Subramanian in 2011. Before joining SRM, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Rice University (USA), Université Paris-Est (CNRS-MSME), Université Montpellier-II (CNRS-ICGM) and Université Paris-Est Creteil (UPEC) FRANCE. He also worked in industrial collaborative projects at IIT-Madras and DST Indo-EU (HYPOMAP) sponsored project at CSIR-CLRI for the investigation of ionic liquids (ILs) based electrolytes and hydrogen storage materials for energy storage applications, respectively. Currently, he is working as Research Assistant Professor at SRM-IST and his research interest involves the investigation of ILs based composites materials for energy storage, carbon capture, activation, conversion and gas separation applications. He also interested to study the various types of non-covalent interactions in molecular clusters, surfaces and host-guest interaction in biomolecules.
