MoU with ESSCI

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) made and entered into on 7th March, 2022 between the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, College of Engineering Technology, Kattankulathur Campus, SRMIST and Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), New Delhi for industrial skill development of students on various field of Electronics.

Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), a not-for-profit Company under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956 having its registered office at Ansal Chamber II, Bhikaji Cama Place New Delhi. The Council has been promoted by six associations i.e., CEAMA, ELCINA, IESA (formerly ISA) , IPCA, MAIT & ELCOMA, with financial support by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The ESSCI envisions to enable a world class electronics manufacturing industry with an ecosystem for skill development and enhance employability of the large number of Indian human resource. The mission of ESSCI is to establish a structured mechanism wherein ESSCI will facilitate & collaborate with NSDC in strengthening the existing vocational education system for skills development in electronics sector & upgrade vocational training system for the industry to achieve global standards in manpower productivity.

As a part of MOU, ESSCI will explore the creation or alignments of its existing Qualification Packs (QP) / National Occupation Standards to the curriculum decided by SRMIST. ESSCI and SRMIST will jointly work for mapping skills requirements of the industry demand and student requirements. ESSCI will support, SRMIST in development of their training eco-system for imparting skill-based training in electronics. ESSCI will support SRMIST in training their faculty members for imparting skill-based training under the QPs of the National Skill Qualifications Framework. Both the institutions will mutually explore new possibilities of spreading the skill model in other academic institutions.  The approved QPs will be floated among bachelor and master students as a one credit course and certificate will be given upon successful completion of course. ESSCI will also help certified students.
