Research Interests
Increase grain sorghum yield potential through development of elite parental lines with drought, cold/heat and herbicide tolerance, non-lodging and disease resistance (Fusarium stalk rot, charcoal rot, anthracnose grain mold and Pyhtium spp.) and with high nutritional value.
Evaluate exotic germplasm to identify potential sources for abiotic and biotic stresses and to use in the development of improved lines.
Molecular marker breeding for the traits of economic importance with special emphasis on exotic germplasm characterization and mapping population development for QTL and association mapping analyses.
