Research Summary

Dr. M. Alagiri carrying his research on the preparation of magnetic metal nanoparticles such as Ni, Co and Fe through the solvothermal technique and synthesis of magnetic metal oxide (NiO) nanoparticles by sol-gel route. In addition, he is working on the metal oxide nanostructures for photocatalytic applications. In this project, he synthesized α-Fe2O3 nanostructures by green synthesis and sol-gel method. The prepared α-Fe2O3 nano materials were employed to the degradation methyl orange dye. He has the potential to develop novel home-made photocatalytic reactors. His current research is to develop porous carbon materials for biosensors application
