Every year World Environment day is celebrated on 5th June to spread awareness, to encourage people to take action and to protect the environment. The theme of World Environment day is Air Pollution.
World Environment Day at SRM, Kattankulathur was organized by SRM Directorate of Student Affairs and SRM Institute of Hotel Managementplayed a major role in making use of the opportunity to highlight the importance of a healthy and safe environment to live and also the necessity of a nutritional and healthy food for a happy living .There were lots of dishes prepared by Chef. Gopinath, with healthy ingredients and without the usage of fire for which Simultaneously Ms. Vinodha Evangeline, the nutrition Faculty elaborated on the nutritional facts and the unique importance of every ingredient that are added to the dishes.The prepared dishes were distributed to the faculties of SRM IST and their family members especially the elderly people and the children. These delicious and nutritive recipes attracted huge crowd from the audience with no respect of their age and gender.Our environment has given us many vital nutrient ingredients which remain neglected and forgotten in this present fast world which has led to the deterioration in the health of the present generation. It is hightime to adapt a healthy life style to pass it on to the coming generation.
