E-short Term Training Programme on Formal Languages and Automata Theory

The main aim of this e-Short Term Training Programme-2020 is to bring together the experts and the young researchers and provide a platform for discussion of recent advances in the relevant research areas of Formal Language and Automata Theory.Formal Language and Automata theory presents the theoretical aspects of computer science. Automata Theory is the study of abstract computing devices or “machines”. Finite automata are a useful model for many important kinds of hardware and software. Some of the most important kinds are :

  • Software for designing and checking the behaviour of digital circuits
  • The “lexical analyser “ of a typical compiler that is the compiler component that breaks the input text into logical units such as identifiers, keywords and punctuation
  • Software for scanning large bodies of text such as collections of webpage to find occurrences of words, phrases (or) other patterns
  • Software for verifying systems of all types that have a finite number of distinct states such as communications protocols or protocols for secure exchange of information
