Dr. T S Kumaravel (Visiting Professor)

Dr. T S Kumaravel is a Visiting Professor under NRC-GLR Academic-Industry Collaborative Research Unit, specializing in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Cancer Biology and Medical Devices. Dr.Kumaravel is American Board certified and UK/Eurotox Registered Toxicologist with more than 18 years experience in industry as well as in academia. Dr. Kumaravel obtained his Bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery from Stanley Medical College, Doctoral degree in Pharmacology/Toxicology from University of Madras and finally obtained PhD in Genetic Toxicology/Cancer Genetics from MGR Medical University, Chennai. He then carried out toxicology research at Hiroshima University, Japan; National Institutes of Health, USA and Princess Margaret Hospital, Canada. Subsequently, he has worked with world leading contract research companies such as Covance Laboratories and Huntingdon Life Sciences, where he worked with various international clients. He has extensive experience running and supervising toxicology studies, advising clients on their projects to comply with national and international guidelines. Additionally, he has experience of managing regulatory submissions. He has extensive experience in Genetic and in vitro toxicology. He has authored several confidential reports, 40 peer-reviewed publications and has 50 + conference papers to his name.

Dr. S S Murugan

Dr. S S Murugan (Visiting Professor)

Dr. S S Murugan is Visiting Professor under NRC-GLR Academic-Industry Collaborative Research Unit, specializing in Toxicology, Pesticides and natural products. Dr. Murugan is a UK and EU Registered Toxicologist with more than 15 years experience in industry. Dr. Murugan obtained his Bachelors, Masters as well as Doctoral degree in Toxicology from University of Madras and MGR Medical University. He has worked with major contract research organizations (CRO) in India - Head of Genetic Toxicology at IIBAT, Toxicology and Quality Assurance Manager at SGS and Scientific Director at RCC India. He has extensive operational and quality assurance experiences. He has been instrumental in obtained GLP certification and has turned around the business at 2 Indian CROs. He has successfully faced several GLP, ISO17025 and FDA audits. Additionally, he has faced several national and international client audits. He was also a member of CPCSEA guidelines committee, which over sees the animal experimentation in India.


Dr.Anuraj Sundararaj

Dr. Anuraj. S joined NRC as a Post Doctoral Fellow in 2016. He has worked on magnetic and semiconductive ultra thin films, high vac - deposition systems and electrical control systems using solid state devices. During his Ph.D. he has worked on several room temperature thin film heterostructure multiferroics. Currently his interest includes magneto-electric multiferroic materials and energy efficient electronics. He is specialized on designing, fabricating and studying new material systems (epitaxial magneto-electic heterostructures / room temperature multiferroic materials / Multifunctional materials) mainly towards a possible 4 state logic device.


Ms. Deepa E Sharma

Ms. Deepa E Sharma, doing her Ms linked PhD in nanotechnology. Magnetic nanoparticles have wide range of advantages in various fields ranging from electrical, data storage to medicine. In biomedical field, these particles can be used for both diagnostics and therapeutic purposes. Her research area includes synthesis of a core shell magnetic nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery and studying the toxicity. She is currently working on designing a nanocarrier for treating wide range of diseases like cancer, arthritis etc. Nano carrier helps in targeting the drug to the diseased area following the controlled release of the drug.

She has completed B.Tech in Biotechnology at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, affiliated to Anna University.


Ms. Kumuthini.R

Ms. Kumuthini.R completed her M.Sc., M.Phil in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 2013. She is currently doing her PhD in Nanotechnology Research Center on "Nanoscale electrode materials for Lithium ion battery".


Mr. Saravanan.L

Mr. Saravanan.L completed his M.Sc in Physics from Bharathidasan University, Trichy in 2012. He worked as a Project Fellow for a year and is currently pursuing his PhD in NRC from 2014. Presently, he is working on "Synthesis and characterization of Cobalt based Heusler Alloys", for Spintronic application like magnetic field sensors, spin valves, MTJ, spin injectors into semiconductors.


Mrs. Subha

Mrs. Subha. K completed her M.Sc.,M.Phil in Physics from Bharathiar University,Coimbatore in 2006. Before joining Nanotechnology Research Center, she worked as Assistant Professor in Sri Ramakrishna Engineering college, Coimbatore from 2007-2014. Presently she is pursuing her PhD in NRC. She is currently working on "synthesis of one dimentional nanofilters for photocatalytic applications via electrospinning technique".


Ms. Phebe. I. Kokila

Ms. Phebe. I. Kokila has completed her M.Sc in Physics from Bharathidasan University, Trichy in 2012 and M.Phil at St.Josephs College, Trichy in 2013. She has registered her PhD in NRC in 2015. She is currently working on "synthesis of magnetic materials with multiferroic properties for the applications of qubit memory devices".


Mr. Murali. G

Mr. MURALI. G has completed his Master of Technology in VLSI design. He has good knowledge in rectifying electronic circuitry as well as simulations. He is experienced in electronics (oscillators, all kind of PCB's, CTV's, Mobiles, Dielectric oven supply, Optical power meters, all kind of analog meters, optimizing Hall Effect setup as well as four probe setup. He has also expertise in Field Emission - Scanning Electron microscope (FE-SEM).

Mr. E Meher Abhinav

Mr. E Meher Abhinav

Mr. E Meher Abhinav has completed his M.E. VLSI Design from School of Information Sciences, Manipal University in 2014. Before joining Nanotechnology Research Center, Abhinav have worked on “Device modeling of novel 2-D material FET’s using DFT” as a Junior Research Fellow in IIT Kanpur and also have one-year teaching experience as Assistant Professor in MRGI, Hyderabad. Presently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. at NRC in the field of "Magnetocaloric Effect and its Applications".

Ms. Jeevani. R

Ms. Jeevani. R has completed her M.Tech in Nanoscience and Technology at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. During her M.Tech degree she worked on Exploration of MnFeO3/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes Composite as Potential Anode for Lithium Ion Batteries in CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi. She has joined NRC as a Junior Research Fellow under DST-SERB funded Project entitled "Transition metal dichalcogenide (MX2; M = Mo, W, V & X = S or Se) and Carbon nanocomposites as an effective electrode material for Lithium-Ion batteries" in Nanotechnology Research Centre. Her area of interest covers battery cell fabrication and testing. She is currently working on "High performance anode material for Lithium-Ion batteries ".

Mr. Jaison D

Mr. Jaison D

Mr. Jaison D has completed his M. Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics at College of Pharmacy, Madras Medical College, Chennai in 2015. After his masters, he has worked in a Pharmaceutical company for one year and gained an exposure in formulation and development of Pharmaceutical dosage forms. This allowed him to develop interest in the field of drug delivery. Mr. Jaison is currently working as a Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded project entitled "Gadolinium substituted ferrites for theragnostic applications" that involves drug delivery along with diagnostic applications using rare earth substituted ferrite particles.
