5th IEEE Magnetics Society Summer School, 2012

SRM University & Nanotechnology Research Centre hosted the 5th IEEE Magnetics Society Summer School in the year 2012. The Annual Summer School which is designed for graduate students studying magnetism and related areas took place from the 22nd to the 27th of July. A hundred students from all parts of the world attended the summer school. Financial Support was provided for students based on a competitive application. Awardees were provided with free room and board and were reimbursed for most of the cost of transportation to/from the school.

The summer school was a great learning experience for the graduate students as they were able to interact with and learn from the best professors and experts in the field of magnetism. In addition, the summer school provided a platform for students to interact with their peers from around the world. Lectures covering fundamental and advanced topics in magnetism were given by international experts and the summer school also included poster presentations by the participating graduate students.
