Student Achievements


  • Ashutosh Agarwal, final year student has been offered a placement at Interview Street, Bangalore with one of the highest package.
  • Two students from II Year have been selected as members for the Firefox Student Ambassador Program.
  • Akhil Singh, a student from III year was awarded the Young Excellency Award by CII, young Indians, IBM, Chennai for web development.
  • Two students from III year participated in Inter-collegiate Paper Presentation Contest, conducted by Infosys, Chennai
  • Bhuvanesh and Vishnu S.Arun participated in the Research Day, conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University), and won the Gold and Silver Medals respectively for their innovative ideas and contribution to the field of Research.
  • Arjun Sundaresh and Akash Gokena participated in the event SESCON’14 conducted by Sri Eshwar Engineering College, Coimbatore, and bagged the First Prize.
  • Students have interned in a start-up “Vatsana Technologies Pvt, Ltd” – An organization founded by entrepreneurs from SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University).
  • Students are ambassadors for prestigious establishments like Google Inc. and HCL Technologies. 
  • Swathi Sridharan represented SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) at the Google India Community Summit held at Goa – August 2013.
  • Students have pursued internship programmes in various prestigious organizations around the world such as Microsoft, Interview Street (Bangalore), IIT Bombay, NEC (Japan). 
  • Under the Semester Abroad Program, many of our students pursued various courses in International Universities like Wisconsin University USA, California State University, USA.
  • A student from IIIrd year, Siddhardth Mahajan completed his internship in Young Entrepreurship of AIESEC in Napoli Parthenope, Italy, 2013 
  • A final year student, Mohit Sindhu was invited to participate in the Cambridge University International Model United Nations Conference, United Kingdon – Aug 2013. He was also appreciated for his active participation in the Model NATO Youth Summit, held in Brussels, Belgiuim 2013
  • The students have stood first in paper presentations at various Universities and International Conferences. Our students have attained top ranks in NIIT Aptitude examinations. 
  • Souma Deep Guha bought laurels to our University, by scoring 100 percentile in one of the most competitive exam – CAT.
  • Students have been selected for State Level, North Tamil Nadu Cricket Team. 
  • Students have won the KONGU Trophy for Table Tennis – Girls Team 

TCS Best Student Project Award 2013

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) honored two students of  Department of Software Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University), Kattankulathur, for their outstanding project on Image Processing, titled ‘Enhancing the relationship between the virtual and real worlds using sixth sense as Interface’ on December 26, 2013.

The project applies the Augmented Reality concept of using human gestures to given command to the system just by flick or movement of fingers. This acts as an interface in converting human actions to virtual reality by adapting the Sixth Sense concept. Giving away the award, Shri. M.Manoharan, Principal Consultant/Senior G.M., TCS congratulated the winners and emphasized the need to imbibe competencies for edging over competition. He also stated that the association between TCS and SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) helps in motivating students for higher levels of learning by providing a stimulating platform.

The Best Student Project Award, instituted by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is an initiative to promote creativity and socially useful projects in select 100 institutions across the country. Dr.C. Muthamizhchelvan, Director welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. N. Sethuraman, Registrar, in his presidential address shared the experiences of the jury in selecting the projects. The awardees shared their learning in doing the projects to the audience with joy. Prof.S. Ganapathy - Dean Placement delivered the vote of thanks.
