India has long been active in the field of photonics, dating back to famous scientists such as Sir C.V. Raman and Sir J.C. Bose. Today, India is home to numerous research groups and telecommunication companies that own a sizeable amount of the fibre-optic links installed around the globe.

Light-based technology, often referred to as photonics, describes a range of applications aimed at directly raising the quality of life worldwide by reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, and combating disease. The field of Green Photonics studies ways to apply light technology to generate energy and yield environmentally sustainable outputs.

Light-based technology is a major economic driver with potential to revolutionize the 21st century as electronics did in the 20th century. The Proclamation of an International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies, 2015 by the United Nations will ensure the importance of light and its potential applications are appreciated by all. As light becomes the key cross-cutting discipline of science and engineering in the 21st century, it is essential that the brightest young minds continue to be attracted into careers in this field.

Three Days workshop On Quantum Computing WQC-2022 (Blended Mode) Organized by Department of Computing Technologies in association with Qkrishi. Quantum computing is a rapidly-emerging technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems too complex for classical computers.

The key objectives of this workshop are

  • The real-world implementation of Quantum Computing and how it has changed our lives
  • Various algorithms and concepts in the area of Quantum Computing with hands-on.

Two days hands-on Training on the Development of Electric Vehicles

About the programme:

In the 21st century, EVs saw a resurgence due to technological developments. A great deal of demand for electric vehicles developed and a group of engineers began sharing technical details for doing electric vehicle conversions.
 
The government is expected to mandate the sale of only  electric three-wheelers from April 2023 all-new two- wheelers with engine capacity up to 150cc driving out  of showrooms may have to be powered by electricity from April 2025. Electric vehicles are expected to increase from 2% of the global share in 2016 to 22% in 2030. In India, more than Electric cars, Electric bikes have found a wider hold upon conventional customers. Electric bikes are less expensive, simple in design and easy to use, which offer high compatibility on the Indian roads.
 
Retrofitting bikes are becoming popular day by day. Traditional bike’s drivetrains are retrofitted with DC transmission systems to transform them into electric bikes. The power of the motor can range from 150W to 1000 W. This technical workshop is developed to enhance the knowledge and skillsets in EVs specifically, the E-Bike domain to fulfill the industrial requirements.
 
The workshop deals with the following:
  • Overview of EV Technology and Design requirements
  • EV components Selection
  • EV Battery technology and Stacking
  • Guidelines for EV Retrofitting
  • Implementation techniques and skill development for Retrofitting
