Physical Education Department Consist of one Director (Sports) and Eight Assistant Professors. Out of this eight Assistant Professors, five of them are having PhD in Physical Education,  one is waiting for the Viva Voce Examination for his PhD .Rest of them are doing PhD.This Department is already running the following programs.

• M.Phil in  Physical Education
• 3 Years B.Sc(Physical Education, Health Education & Sports )
• PhD Part Time & Full Time
• Diploma in Yoga(One Year ) 

               This department is having adequate infrastructure facilities for games and sports as given below

• Five Volleyball Courts with floodlit
• Four Basketball courts with floodlit and gallery for spectators
• Two Football Fields
• One Hockey Fields
• One Cricket fields
• One 400 Meters Standard Track with a raised border. 
• One Throw Ball Court
• Indoor  Stadium for Multiple purposes (volleyball  & Basketball) With a specification of 22.00m X36.00m                
• One  Small Indoor Stadium (To Play Badminton, Table Tennis and Chess) (9.30 m X 32.75 M)
• Three Ball Badminton  Courts
• Two Clay Tennis Courts

            In Addition to the above facilities, the Department is admitting top Ranking Players and Athletes Under sports quota in all Faculties. They brought laurels name and fame to the University at Zonal and National Level .

Qualified Coaches are also working.

                         In Addition to that our Assistant Professors are giving coaching  in Tennis, Ball Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton and Other Games

• 342 Students are studying under sports quota (Men & Women) and their fees were waived.
• Besides that are providing free Boarding and Lodging for players in the Hostels for 271 (Men & Women)students coming from out of the station.

                    In  Collaboration with Sports Authority of India SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) is running Six-week Certificate course during Summer Vacation between 16th May and 24th June every year.This year SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) is conducting the course during winter also between 17th Dec 2017 and 25th January 2018)

RESEARCH:

            Presently Nine Scholar under regular and nine in Part-Time are pursuing PhD in the Department of Physical Education.
