Scholarship
A sum of US$ 200,000 is earmarked for 100 academic, merit and economic scholarships to high performers among International students joining undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The exceptions are MBBS, BDS, BASLP, B. Pharm, Pharm D & PhD Courses.

In all matters relating to Scholarship, the decision of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) Scholarship Committee would be final and binding. Candidates are eligible for either Merit or Economic scholarship and not both.

Merit Scholarship (applicable only for UG Programs)
The Scholarships are based on merit and range between 25 – 35 % of the first year tuition fee, beginning in the first year, on joining the University as a full- time degree-seeking student.

As per the scholarship norms, 35% tuition fee waiver is awarded for the candidate score of 90% and above in the relevant subjects and 25% for the candidate score of 80% and above in the relevant subjects.

In subsequent years, renewal of scholarship is subject to consistent high performance as per the norms set by the University from time to time.

If the Eligibility Committee seeks grade equivalence, in such cases the responsibility lies with the candidate to submit the grade equivalence signed by the authorized signatory from the concerned school. Based on the same, scholarship will be approved.

1) a)For courses like  BA JMC, B.Sc Viscom, B.Com ISM,LLB,B.A LLB,BSc HCM,B.Des,B.Arch,BCA and BBA- overall percentage will be considered for CBSE and boards other than CBSE any three subjects as per the above mentioned band will be considered.
2) Marks scored in the language subjects will not be considered for scholarship

Economic Scholarship (applicable for both UG & PG Programs)
Economic Scholarships of 35% fee waiver on the annual tuition fee is awarded for students from Africa*, Iraq, Iran, Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia,Vietnam, PNG, Malaysia & SAARC**  countries.

Teaching Assistantships (TA) for Masters and Research Assistantship (RA) for PhD are awarded through the departments based on academic merit. To be considered for assistantship you must apply separately.

Scholarships for Undergraduate Programmes under IIT-JEE, SAT and SAT Subject Tests

Students will be eligible for a Merit Scholarship of 35% on the tuition fee for the entire duration for the following programmes.

All B. Tech (Bachelor of Technology) Programmes [Duration: 4 years]

SAT: An overall aggregate of 900 out of 1600

(or)

SAT Subject Tests: An aggregate of 1500 out of 2400 in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics Level 1 (or) Mathematics Level 2

(or)

IIT - JEE Paper 1: An aggregate of 200 out of 360 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

B. Tech Biotechnology [Duration: 4 years]

SAT Subject Tests: An aggregate of 1500 out of 2400 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or) Mathematics Level 1 (or) Mathematics Level 2

B. Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) [Duration: 5 years]

SAT Subject Tests: An aggregate of 1500 out of 2400 in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics Level 1 (or) Mathematics Level 2

(or)

IIT - JEE Paper 2: An aggregate of 200 out of 390 in Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test with NATA (mandatory)

Qualifying marks for NATA would be based on the following rules:

1. A minimum of 25% must be secured in MCQ portion (30 out of 120)

2. A minimum of 25% must be secured in Drawing portion (20 out of 80)

3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council of Architecture.

Management (BBA) and Science and Humanities

BSc (Biotechnology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Hotel and Catering Management, Visual Communication, Fashion Design)

BA (English, Journalism and Mass Communication, Music, Bharatanatyam)

B. Com (General, Accounting and Finance, Corporate Secretaryship, Information System and Management)

B.Com (Honors) (International Accounting and Finance (In Association with ACCA, UK), Professional Accounting (In Association with CIMA, UK))

[Duration: 3 years]

SAT: An overall aggregate of 900 out of 1600

Students can apply for a 35% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration through any one of the tests with qualifying scores as mentioned above.

Students who apply for B. Tech courses can also qualify for 35% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration either through the above-mentioned tests (or) through SRM-JEEE.

Note: SAT results to be provided before the enrollment to consider for scholarship.

SRM - JEEE:

Students who qualify under SRM-JEEE are also eligible for a 35% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the B. Tech programme.

The students have to appear for counseling as per the counseling procedure to avail the scholarship.

These scholarship rules are applicable for all the NRI (or) OCI (or) PIO students applying at SRMIST.

Note: These scholarships are not applicable for any Medicine and Health Science courses offered at SRMIST, Chennai.
