He cherished the moment of academic celebration by sharing a heartwarming and his life-changing incident happened in his career 20 years ago, where a 16 years old boy from Cheyyar was affected by deafness followed by trivial viral infection. As the dreams of the blooming bud were shattered, his family tried committing suicide from which they were saved and brought for counseling to Dr. Mohan Kameswaran. He helped the boy regain his hearing ability and the boy has become a successful software engineer in U.S.

Dr. Mohan Kameswaran is a person of generosity as he felt privileged that the doctorate was honored to him for his work in the field, dealing with deafness and dumbness. He was also happy to share his doctorate degree with the intensive minds present in the room.

Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan, Honourable Speaker of the 16th Lok Sabha delivered her convocation address with an enlightened smile. She addressed her speech by welcoming the dignitaries on the dais. As she is well known as “Thaai” for everyone, she reminded the gathering that technology is a useful servant, never make it a master as it might turn dangerous. She also advised knowledge is the ultimate power, emerging as the currency of the nation.

Innovation unlocks values and distinguishes between a leader and a follower. Imagination is more important than knowledge as imagination encircle the whole world. Madam “Thaai” with her mesmerizing vocal asked the students to imagine, innovate and contribute constructively to the nation. She reminded that her above mentioned request is not only for the local students but also for the international students graduating from the institution. She concluded her speech with Sanskrit sloka, “vidya dadati vinayam, vinayadyati patratam; patratvaddhanamapnoti, dhanaddharmam tatah sukham” which means knowledge gives discipline, from discipline comes worthiness, from worthiness one gets wealth, from wealth one get good deeds, ultimately leading to joy.

After the phenomenal speech of our chief guest, it was a cloud nine moment for the students who have completed Bachelor degrees in Engineering & Technology B.Tech (Part Time), All PG Programmes (Full Time and Part Time), Science and Humanities, Management, Medicine and Health Sciences and Doctorate of this academic year as they were declared as graduates.
