Dr. Mohan Rajan, is a renowned ophthalmologist (Eye Surgeon) in Chennai. A DO graduate from Sankara Nethralaya in the year of 1987 He had completed his MNAMS in Ophthalmology at the National Academy of Medical Science, 1998 and pursued DNB- Ophthalmology from Sankara Nethralaya, 1998.

An accomplished eye surgeon, he is single-handedly responsible for creation and restoration of the sense of sight to thousands of visually challenged people who wouldn’t have seen the light of day if not for his service in the field of Ophthalmology. His talent and versatility in personality has him currently as the Medical Director and Founder of Rajan Eye care hospital Pvt. Ltd, T. Nagar. He is also the managing trustee of the Chennai vision Charitable Trust

Apart from professional success and acclaim, he is also a righteous and virtuous person Beginning as an active rotarian in 1992, he has also held the position of District Chairman on six different occasions consequently rising up to director – community (1995 - ’97), director (1998 – ’99) Secretary (1999 – 2000) ultimately to President (2001 – 2002)

A pioneer in cataract surgery, he has been a guiding force to the to his upcoming generations of future ophthalmologists. Priceless knowledge and experience of this pioneer and ‘vision’ary are now available in the form of his books. His publications For you Eyes Only (Tamil & English), Contact Lens Practice, Learning PHACO – the easy way, etc; His writings serve as a path to all ophthalmologists and cataract surgeons in the years to come

Awards and accolades abound around an achiever, and Dr. Mohan Rajan is no exception his long list of awards may exhaust the people reading about it, but a few awards worthy of special mention include Best Doctor Award from the Government of Tamilnadu for the services rendered to physically disabled people in 2008, Rotaract – Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary International in 1997. The Euro Times Award for Surgerical excellence in 2008 and Achievement Award from American Academy of ophthalmology in June 2015
